Things That Attract Viewers’ Attention In Youtube

In just a few short years, Youtube has gone from experimental, upstart tech company to game-changing revolution. There are several billion hours of video on the site and viewers spend hours every day watching one after the other. But, say you have a clip you want to get noticed. How do you fight the noise? There are ways of making that happen.

There are a few choice tips to get your project in front of viewers’ eyes.

1. The first thing a potential viewer sees is your video’s title. Come up with something that will draw their attention. It isn’t difficult. Simply construct an active and enticing lead-in to your video project. Explain what it is in as few words as possible, but leave a little up to the imagination.

2. Put the video where viewers will find it. This means selecting the right category for your video. The right heading can make or break a video because it determines whether the right audience will be able to find it or not.

The issue is when you mislist your video, people can’t find it. If they can’t find it, they can’t watch it. If they can’t watch it, you don’t get viewers and you are stuck at ground zero. Instead, put a little bit of thought into where you list your video. Your traffic results will benefit.

3. Keywords are key. Put a few well-thought-out tags on your video. This will help people searching for certain subjects to find your video. A good rule of thumb is to include at least three tags per video, though certainly you can do more.

Videos that make smart use of keywords will get the most benefit from Youtube’s search algorithms. Case in point, lots of viewers love funny cat videos. But Youtube doesn’t know the difference between a cat video and a dog video, except for the use of keywords. So, if somebody searches for “funny cats,” videos tagged with those words will filter to the top first.

4. Youtube is a video-SHARING site. That means you can make use of the social aspect of Youtube’s services. Watch other people’s videos. Comment liberally. And, as often as possible, link back to your own videos. However, be careful to appear genuine. Nobody likes a link-spammer.
